Hidden beneath the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal, Bowie is a subterranean supperclub that marries 1980s glamour with design-led flair. Spanning 3,000 square feet, the late 2024 opening nods to London and New York’s most decadent nightlife eras, reimagined with contemporary restraint.
Guests enter the windowless retreat through a low-lit vestibule adorned with botanical tapestry and sculptural forms, before stepping into a space that oozes drama and theatrics. A central corridor slices through the room, linking a series of considered vignettes: plush lounge seating, mirrored columns, and an intimate rear lounge wrapped in black velvet and punctuated by tiger print and chrome.

Designed by IVY Studio, the interiors favour bold silhouettes and unexpected materials. A rich palette of teal, mustard, burgundy, and black carries throughout, mirrored in the velvet upholstery, lacquered tabletops, and a burgundy ceiling softened by backlit alcoves. Custom-made furnishings dominate the space, the curved velvet couches, chrome-base tables, and sculptural poufs exuding a sense of high style. A DJ booth is positioned at one end, while at the other, a monumental red marble bar segmented with brass insets acts as a luminous centrepiece beneath a bespoke chrome chandelier.
Lighting is precise and atmospheric. Recessed LEDs, mirrored surfaces, and chrome sconces diffuse a soft, cinematic glow. The sound design is equally curated with oversized red speakers that anchor the space both visually and sonically, hinting at the club’s namesake and musical DNA.
On the menu, Asian-inspired small plates complement Bowie’s rhythm. Designed for sharing, they echo the social energy of the space. DJ sets unfold nightly, soundtracking an experience designed to be seen, heard, and felt. A strict no-camera policy adds to its allure.
A place where privacy, design, and sound meet beneath the surface of Montreal’s historic streets, Bowie is an awe-inspiring ode to discerning decadence.
