Restaurant Na Parah, St Petersburg

MODGI Group gives St Petersburg restaurant Na Parah a refined modern identity rooted in atmosphere and material detail...

In the centre of St Petersburg, where Liteyny Avenue meets Nevsky Prospect, design studio MODGI Group have reimagined Na Parah as a contemporary restaurant that links the city’s past to a more modern sensibility.

Guests arrive in a dim, softly lit hall where light from wall sconces and near-invisible spot fixtures creates a steady glow. The atmosphere is calm, encouraging diners to step away from the city’s noise. At the centre of the main room sits an open kitchen, its serving counter wrapped in glossy steel and edged with a sharp line of light.

A second hall continues the theme, though the room narrows and attention naturally moves to a monolithic stone bar table. Its veining catches the internal light, giving the surface a faint crystalline shimmer. Smaller tables follow around it: arrangements for two set along the perimeter, sofa seating lining the walls, and larger oval tables for groups of six.

Seating for 66 is divided across distinct zones, accommodating those stopping by to work on a laptop, meet friends for drinks or dinner, or settle in for a long Sunday lunch.

Arched openings link the halls, clad in the same polished steel used in the kitchen and traced with flexible LED lines. The palette stays measured — wood, microvelour, plaster, stone — materials chosen to keep the architecture front and centre. Lighting fixtures in matte glass with metal trims echo the linear geometry that guides the entire scheme.

Finished with restrained greenery and unfussy wall panels, Na Parah emerges as a thoughtful new dining space for the city.
