Copenhagen’s Brøchner Hotels have unveiled their latest property, Hotel Hans, a 91-room boutique stay set between the elegant calm of Frederiksberg and the energy of Nørrebro. Housed in a red-brick building from 1900 by architect Emil Blichfeldt — the same mind behind Tivoli Gardens’ iconic entrance — the hotel brings a new personality to the city’s independent hospitality scene.
Inside, textured concrete and sleek marble, combined with industrial steel and soft green tones, make Hotel Hans feels both raw and refined; a nod to the two neighbourhoods outside its doors. Its name refers to Brøchner Hotels’ founder, Hans Brøchner-Mortensen, whose entrepreneurial streak and hands-on craftsmanship helped shape the brand’s DNA. His presence can be felt in details including custom artworks in neon and concrete, created with design duo Pettersen & Hein.
At Hotel Hans, days begin with Brøchner’s organic breakfast ritual: freshly baked bread, seasonal fruit, and local coffee served in a setting that starts the morning off the right way. Evenings, meanwhile, are for vermouth. The lobby bar turns lively after dark, its cocktail menu built around the fortified spirit, while BOLO, the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, serves a menu devised around simple, ingredient-led cooking.
There’s a courtyard for contemplating, and balconies and rooftop terraces for city views, Hotel Hans appealing to both travel aficionados and locals who are also welcome to inhabit the spaces.
Combining sleek aesthetics with extraordinary guest experiences, whether you come and go, or decide to linger a little longer, Brøchner’s Hotel Hans is an inspired addition to Copenhagen’s buoyant hospitality scene.
