Autumn Martin has been calling on the quintessential American campfire for gooey treat inspiration since 2008; when Hot Cakes began life as a farmers’ market stall. Opening up Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery in Seattle’s Ballard neighbourhood in 2012, Martin’s stock has continued to rise since. It’s easy to see why: roasted s’mores, dry-burned caramel sauces, salted caramel pudding … imbibed with the spirit of campfire embers, recreated indoors.
Enjoying considerable success with her viscous indulgences, Martin recently added a Capitol Hill location — staying true to the growing brand, the full-wall chalkboard menu remains … as do polished concrete floors and creamy hues. But it’s s’mores and smoky chocolate decadence that you’re here for — and there is plenty of that. Plenty.
