Plot, Tooting Broadway Market

The best of British is celebrated at Plot, a new petite but perfect space in Tooting’s Broadway Market...

A petite but very much perfectly formed restaurant, Plot has opened in Tooting’s Broadway Market, bringing to this corner of South London a relaxed spot from which to chow down on the cream of British cuisine.

Founded by cousins Mark Kimber and Harry Smith — with chef Giles Elstob in charge of the kitchen — Plot is steps away from the duo’s family homes, and will see its menu shift in tune with the British seasons; taking advantage of the best local suppliers — think meat from Chadwick’s on Tooting High Street, and fish from Moxons in Clapham South.

The cosy fifteen-seat restaurant (which Kimber and Smith plan to also use as a platform for hosting guest supper clubs and regular residencies) features an open kitchen from where staples like roast cod with curried tartare sauce and scraps; chicken and smoked ham hock terrine; and braised beef cheek with pickled red cabbage will be given the ‘Plot’ magic touch — served to guests in a dining room embellished with Circus Pendant Lamps by Corinna Warm, and a sleek marble top bar.

Open from breakfast through to dinner, Plot also offers a host of British craft beers, classic cocktails and spiffing wine list.
