Laurie Nouchka, Rio-Inspired Collection

London-based artist's architecture-inspired swimwear heads for the Copacabana with Rio-inspired range...

British brand Laurie Nouchka have launched a gold medal-worthy Rio de Janeiro-inspired collection that transports the founder/artist’s hand-drawn, architectural works from the canvas; turning them into contemporary, wearable pieces.

Merging her passion for iconic structures with the architecture of the human body in bold and energising designs, Nouchka’s latest collection features two Rio icons: the Oscar Niemeyer-designed Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Niterói, and Theatro Municipal, widely considered to be one of the most beautiful theatres in the country. The collection introduces a new range of bikini styles, and consists of one-piece swimsuits, high-waist and low-rise bikini pants, cross-back and racer-back bikini tops, and leggings and crop tops; all printed in the UK using Italian lycra and EUROJERSEY sensitive fabrics.

The arresting architectural designs combine style, movement, and art. As the artist herself declares: ‘art that you wear, for those that move.’
