Cheese Bar Barcelona is even better than the mouthwatering name suggests...

The Barceloní love a bit of cheese, you know. So much so that the entire city seems to eat it for breakfast in baguettes, which is a fabulous way to start the day (albeit murder on the waistline). But that is amateur stuff compared to Cheese Bar Barcelona… that’s three of our favourite words in the whole world put together to make something glorious.

Cheese Bar Barcelona (never going to get tired of seeing that) is a next-level cheese appreciation venue occupying 400 sqm of the Hotel Meliá Sarriá’s ground floor. Designed by estudiHac, CBB is run by artisan cheese specialist Poncelet as a place to fully appreciate the gastronomic possibilities of the finest cheese from Spain and across Europe. From the wooden lattice installations at the entrance – suggesting cubes and slices – things just keep getting more intensely cheese-flavoured inside. There’s a library brimming with cheese knowledge, laid out like a lounge for proper perusal. A huge diamond-shaped cheese pantry displays all the dairy delights on offer, and when the palate needs cleansing, there’s a cocktail bar on hand to offer liquid refreshment. Other key features from estudiHac include a lush vertical garden and that marble floor. We’ve melted.
