The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush

The Hoxton place more roots in the city where it all began, debuting their design and community focused concept in London's west...

Marking its fourth opening in the UK capital, The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush sees the hospitality brand placing more roots in the city where it all began. The 237-bedroom hotel has been designed by Ennismore’s in-house design studio, AIME Studios, and draws inspiration from the local area, with public spaces reflecting retro transport design and the symmetry and colour palettes of the London Transport Museum Depot.

With hotels now in east, south, central and west London, The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush brings the design-driven, community-focused vibe it’s known for to the north end of Shepherd’s Bush Green, the property also home to Thai-Americana restaurant Chet’s, and a huge open lobby for guests and locals to work and play amongst vintage ’70s furniture, and an eye catching central bar.

The bedrooms are inspired by the heritage of the neighbourhood and feature scalloped motifs that reference architectural facets on nearby Pennard Road, whilst copper and antique brass metal finishes are designed to create a home-from-home feel. From the Cosy room to the brand new Hideout category (there’s six in total), guests can expect The Hox’s plush beds complete with wavy headboards custom-designed by Bute, and bed cushions made with Ottoline fabric, mid-century inspired bespoke lighting and bedside lamps that complement scalloped rattan shades. Bathrooms feature pistachio walls, bottle green tiles, and walk-in rainfall showers; playfully offsetting the bedrooms’ warmer aesthetics.

The lobby is a place to see and be seen, its tonal colour palette complemented by tactile textiles, verdant prints and floral motifs. Bringing the area’s eclectic spirit indoors, design features include a curated collection of original paintings, prints and mixed media collages, some from local artists; custom rugs by Holmes Bespoke; and a stunning central wraparound bar of reeded maple and Salome grey marble.

American comfort food with a Thai twist comes courtesy of Kris Yenbamroong’s restaurant Chet’s, the menu combining home-style hospitality with retro-nostalgic design, fantastic food and an informal, easy dining experience. Open from breakfast through to dinner, you’ll find something to whet the palette here.

Championing the local area through collaboration and aesthetic homages, The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush continues the design hotel brand’s rapid expansion, whilst maintaining its core focus of community spirit.
