REBL is rewriting the rules of boxing culture in Montreal. Designed by By Lemoignan Studio, the club is a bold, community-driven space where fitness meets creative expression and individuality. Housed in a former industrial factory in the heart of the city, it’s a hard-working but open-to-all gym that speaks to Montreal’s independent spirit.
With its soaring ceilings and abundant natural light, the setting has undeniable presence. The street-facing location enhances REBL’s visibility while inside, the space balances rawness with precision. The sculptural reception desk acts as a centrepiece against a backlit accent wall, whilst a chrome punching bag reflects the club’s confident, rebellious stance.
A café sits adjacent opening onto the street to extend the club’s invitation beyond the training floor. The continuity between the two worlds is achieved through the use of thoughtful materials including ceramic finishes that wrap furniture and walls.
Materiality is of utmost importance at REBL. Shades of blue flow across the epoxy floor, their varying tones setting a dynamic foundation. Silver and dark blue woodwork interacts with glossy red and pale blue ceramics, producing a confident visual identity that feels industrial. Raw plywood lockers nod to the building’s past, while custom lighting is accented with subtle red details and punctuates the interior with sculptural flair.
A social space built around diversity, exchange, and the shared enjoyment of movement, REBL is bold, fun, and welcoming to all.
