Primavera Sound Barcelona 2026

The drumbeat of announcements grows louder, and Barcelona knows what that means: Primavera Sound 2026 is almost upon us...

The signs are unmistakable. Announcements are landing in quick succession, the city is beginning to hum with a familiar anticipation. And anyone who has spent a June in Barcelona will know exactly what that means: Primavera Sound is on the horizon.

The 24th edition of the festival runs 3—7 June at Parc del Fòrum, and it has already broken records; selling out entirely before most folk had chance to make plans. Headlining this year are veritable indie music icons, The Cure, granted their customary carte blanche to play as long as they see fit (those with long memories will recall their three-hour demolition of the Fòrum in 2012); Doja Cat, making her Barcelona debut on the back of a remarkable run of form; The XX, returning with their first album since 2017; Addison Rae delivering the festival’s customary dose of big-hitting American pop; My Bloody Valentine making an unexpected return; and genre-defining trip hop titans, Massive Attack.

Never shy about wearing their politics on their sleeve, Primavera Sound’s 2026 edition is no different. Massive Attack’s unflinching support for Palestine makes their presence here pointed, given Sónar’s recent ownership situation; Palestinian DJ Sama Abdulhadi is also on the bill, as are Kneecap, the Irish trio currently navigating a UK terrorism charge for displaying a Hezbollah flag onstage, and who delivered one of last year’s most memorable Apolo sets. Primavera, as ever, not just a festival, but a position.

Beyond the top of the bill, the lineup stretches wide and deep: Welsh brothers Overmono will bring their epic brand of electronica to Parc del Fòrum; rave icon A Guy Called Gerald will be plugging in for a live set; viral DJ, ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, is set to tear up whichever stage welcomes him; and there’ll be several blasts from the past, including industrial pioneers Einstürzende Neubauten, shoegaze darlings Slowdive, and Detroit techno collective Underground Resistance among over 150 more.

With the main festival sold out, Primavera Pro accreditation remains the one route in for music industry professionals. And, with the full programme for its 17th edition now announced, it’s as strong a reason as any to make the trip. Since its inception in 2010, Pro has grown into one of the music industry’s foremost international gatherings, last year welcoming 3,200 professionals from 68 countries.

Twenty-two free shows at the CCCB’s Pati de les Dones; Primavera a la Ciutat brings the festival into the city’s heart ahead of the Fòrum.

From 3—5 June at the CCCB, the conference strand brings together over a hundred international speakers from the likes of Sony Music Publishing, AEG Presents, Mavin Records and Rimas Nation, tackling subjects that cut to the heart of where the industry is heading: the African music boom, K-pop fandom models, Bad Bunny’s record-breaking Puerto Rico residency as a blueprint for the future of live, and — inevitably — AI’s encroachment on rights, sync and creative process.

The fourth edition of the Digital Licensing & Sync Sessions returns, as does the international songwriting camp #FollowTheSong. Twenty-two free showcases at the CCCB’s Pati de les Dones, meanwhile, are open to the public as part of Primavera a la Ciutat; the programme that ensures the festival’s energy pulses through the city’s venues long before anyone sets foot in the Fòrum.

That energy will be officially ignited on Wednesday 3 June with the Opening Day by Estrella Damm; free, reservation-only concerts at the Fòrum from early evening featuring Wet Leg, Yard Act, Guitarricadelafuente, and Ouineta. And all will be gloriously extinguished on Sunday 7 June, when Primavera Bits by Occident transforms the seafront site into an open-air dancefloor from 15:00 until 23:00; the indomitable Carl Cox, Joseph Capriati, BLOND:ISH, and Greta your guides for the send-off.

For those without a ticket, a waiting list remains open for both weekend and day passes. For industry professionals, Pro accreditations are available now at primaverasound.com.
