Set against the snowy backdrop of Andorra’s Grandvalira ski lifts, Fora Pizza brings a laid-back dining concept to El Tarter with a design that feels both purposeful and playful. Conceived by Xavi and Lidia of the Lamont Group, the restaurant takes its name from a clever wordplay — fora pista means off-piste in Catalan — capturing the freedom of sculpting fresh lines on untouched snow and the informal spirit of a mountain pizzeria.
The interiors, from Sandra Tarruella Interioristas, are built around the glow of a wood-fired oven and an open stainless-steel kitchen, both framed by two bars that serve as the heart of the space. This arrangement not only anchors the communal dining tables but ensures service flows smoothly during peak ski season. A comb-shaped floor plan further refines circulation, making the restaurant as efficient as it is inviting.
Natural finishes reinforce the mountain setting; lime-painted walls, slatted timber in varied tones, and artisan stoneware flooring create a warm and grounded palette. Lighting grants intimacy even when the room is buzzing with après-ski crowds. Every element has been carefully considered, from the crockery and cutlery to the custom-built furniture crafted by Fusteria Danés. Design icons — including the TMC lamp by Santa & Cole, Stilnovo’s Minitopo, and Flos’s Parentesi — add contemporary punctuation, while a photograph by Arnau Giol hangs proudly in the private room.
Touches of character appear in the details, reclaimed cutting boards form a wall installation that recalls the paddles of traditional pizzaiolos, while illuminated street-level windows ensure the semi-basement site announces its presence after dark. Together, these elements create a refuge that feels both authentic and modern, a place where skiers can unclip their boots, stash their gear, and refuel in style.
With a brand identity inspired by ski tracks zigzagging through fresh powder, and an abundance of freshly made pizzas flying out of the kitchen, Fora Pizza is a place where design, tradition, and alpine energy converge, delivering Andorra’s ski crowd a new hotspot to gather, eat, and swap stories of their perfect turns or spectacular wipe-outs.
