Meadow, London

A-nrd studio shape London' Meadow as a new model of workplace, blending openness, intimacy, and layered materiality...

London-based interior architecture studio A-nrd has completed Meadow, a new workspace within Mason & Fifth’s Westbourne Park site from architects AHMM, designed as a calm counterpoint to the city outside. Spread across more than 900 square metres over two floors, the project provides an environment where members can work, meet, and decompress, balancing structure with ease.

Following their work on the on-site restaurant Canal, A-nrd have extended their vision into Meadow with a layered sequence of zones for quiet focus, collaboration, and retreat. The entrance sets the tone with full-height glazing that draws in light, while velvet seating, recycled plastic tables, and planting create a sense of welcome. A sculptural console by Jason Posnot marks arrival, leading to spaces defined by rich upholstery, sapele wood furniture, and custom-designed meeting rooms.

At the heart of the project is a communal table wrapping around a concrete column reimagined as a planter, clad in glossy red ceramic tiles. Nearby, a sunken conversation pit and a series of daybeds introduce more relaxed ways of working, while bespoke booths and communal desks offer structured alternatives. The palette is earthy and grounded, with mustard swivel chairs and patterned upholstery punctuating the calm.

Downstairs, the atmosphere softens. A communal kitchen crafted in sapele wood sets the tone, its mustard terrazzo surfaces paired with green zellige tiles and handmade paper pendants. Private workshops extend off this hub, maintaining the same warmth and material consistency as the spaces above.

Throughout, A-nrd have prioritised material honesty and adaptability. Custom furniture, modular layouts, and densely layered planting create a balance between openness and intimacy, ensuring the workspace evolves with its users. Lighting, too, is considered with pendants, wall lights and LEDs that shape moods across the day.

As founder Alessio Nardi comments: :”we didn’t want to create something overly polished or corporate. Meadow is about providing a backdrop for work and creativity, moving between focus and softness, sociability and solitude.”

The result is a workspace that reflects Mason & Fifth’s values of community and wellbeing, and a design that reimagines what the modern office can feel like.
