KNIT by Curver turns the knitting trend on its head with unique woven plastic material...

Gearing up for its imminent designjunction unveiling during London Design Festival, KNIT by Curver, a collaboration between plastic people Curver and designers FranklinTill Studio, have merged knitting and 3D design to create a contemporary interpretation of everyday design objects; poufs, stools, basket and planters.

‘A design-led and colour-inspired 5-storey staircase installation and Press Room exhibition’ will showcase how the collaboration — inspired by the art of knitted textiles, turned on its head through a new woven plastic method — fuses textures, innovation and a bold colour palette ‘taking inspiration from the everyday functionality of plastic to create a concept, in which visitors can experience the specially curated collection in a vibrant and colourful environment’.

With the trend in knitting making no signs of slowing down, we’re looking forward to seeing more additions to the current range of indoor and outdoor design accessories and furniture — and yeah, I can’t wait to see how that plastic weave feels…
