Madrid pop-up invites half a dozen of Spain's best regional chefs to take over hotel kitchen...

It’s already a great place to eat out, but things just got even better for Madrid epicureans with the opening of pop-up restaurant The Table by… at Urso Hotel & Spa. Each month for six months, the kitchen is being taken over by a guest chef from around Spain, bringing with them their regional food specialities for the Madrid audience to savour without leaving the confines of the capital.

It’s not just the delicious menu that will change each month either. At this imaginitive pop-up – the brainchild of creative agency Better – the whole event will be a fresh experience for diners who will be met with a new interior design for each visiting chef. Our pictures are from the recently-completed residency of Santiago restaurant Abastos 2.0, who kicked off the whole project, and show the cuisine of the coastal town reflected in the wire lobster pot light fittings, as well as an interesting three dimensional wall installation. Next to visit in December is Jesus Sánchez from the Michelin-starred El Cenador de Amós near Santander, followed in January by Bilbao chef Fernando Canales Etxanobe. We can’t wait see what Better create as a backdrop for their spells in the kitchen.
