Blurred lines. Not the title of the most excruciatingly annoying song of the last 12 months, but the increasing lack of distinction between retail, lifestyle, travel… urban existence. Bedding down together in Berlin’s Mitte recently, here are two new roomies epitomising such alluring vagueness with a handsome new space.
The space in question? FvF Apartment by Vitra, which comes courtesy of Swiss furniture company Vitra and hipper-than-hip design mag Freunde von Freunden. The pair are looking into how this generation of tech-savvy, sustainably-minded creatives want to live. Big question. We know how they want to shop, and it’s increasingly in places like this; living spaces purposely created to showcase the kind of product designs which wouldn’t be seen dead in a retail park warehouse superstore. Interior designers Etienne Descloux and Katrin Greiling added their expertise to the 65sqm apartment on Mulackstrasse, which is a mix of classic and contemporary styles. Shop? Place to stay? Event space? Advertorial? Perhaps all, and so much more.
