If it’s good enough for John Terry, it’s god enough for the rest of us. Yes, the multi-millionaire former England captain and fan’s favourite was pictured last week doing a bit of Christmas shopping in a thrift shop, proving that just because you’ve got money, doesn’t mean you have to waste it all on expensive presents for your loved ones.
Sadly, Chelsea idol John went to a High Street chain selling budget tat, when he should have parked his Bentley outside KK Outlet on the other side of town in Hoxton. It’s there that dynamic design duo The Poundshop have set up Santa’s Designer Outlet, offering cool gift ideas at prices from £1 to £10. Starting out like all the best creative endeavours – with bundles of enthusiasm, loads of talent and absolutely no money – The Poundshop has made nine successful pop-up appearances since 2010, and this tenth incarnation has been achieved with the help of London creative collective ADA projects. To help keep up blood sugar levels through an intensive shopping session, Freddie Janssen of F.A.T. has been tasked with creating a Christmas lunch menu at the gallery which features seasonal twists on her famed gourmet sandwiches. Closes for business on 21 December.
