Probably not the place to go if you’re feeling fragile, Distrito is a restaurant and bar found at the Saguaro Hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Brought into being by Brooklyn design firm crème and its principal Jun Aizaki, this place puts the vibe in vibrant. Taking its theme from the Mexican barbecue food on offer, the interior, as you can see, doesn’t hold back with its colour palette of neon greens, shocking pinks and eye-popping purples.

If your visual nerves need calming, you can sample a few of the 100 varieties of tequila on offer. If you’re feeling especially unhinged, there’s a Patron Burdeos for $100 a shot, but most come in at a much more wallet-friendly sum. Once you’ve got a good buzz going, get your meat on with some authentic border-style barbacoa, or just keep it light with some chips and salsa to soak up the shots. Ay caramba!
