Internationally acclaimed English designer, Thomas Heatherwick, has given a soft touch to an iconic Hong Kong luxury shopping and entertainment complex with a decidedly fluid £165 million redesign. Artistic, flowing lines sweep around the centre with unthinkable attention to detail – just look at that curbing – and calming natural light washes in from the skylights that now form a centrepiece to the podium roofscape. Natural materials have been used throughout, and the bold stone façade is elegantly mirrored inside by the glass elevator shaft.
