A 12-metre atrium, Mediterranean planting and echoes of the Great Eastern Railway shape new Stratford co-workspace Conductor...

Just a few minutes’ walk from Stratford Station, Conductor has arrived as the latest addition to Coppermaker Square, the build-to-rent development by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW). The new flexible workspace occupies 30,000 square feet, offering 150 desks, 82 private offices for teams of three to 21, and a mix of co-working and lounge-style areas. Residents of Coppermaker Square gain direct access, putting professional workspace just a few steps from home.

Located beside Westfield Stratford City, Conductor is designed to serve freelancers, founders, creative teams and small businesses, while responding to evolving work patterns and the hybrid lifestyle. “The way people live and work has changed fundamentally in recent years, and our approach at URW has been to evolve alongside those changes,” says James Buckingham, Strategic Development Director of the company. “Conductor is a direct response to growing demand for flexible, high-quality workspace, both from Coppermaker Square residents and from the wider business community.”

At the heart of the building, a 12-metre-high atrium brings natural light into the space, with Mediterranean planting creating a calm, urban oasis. Surrounding this, layered lighting, earthy materials and rich textures shape both quiet and social zones. A café, library, conversation pit, 7,000 square foot garden terrace and cycle storage support work, wellbeing and community in equal measure.

The interiors nod to the site’s history as the former Great Eastern Railway Stratford Works. Studio Multi led the architectural concept, collaborating with interior designer Tabitha Isobel, lighting designer 18 Degrees, landscape architect to-studio, and branding by 3CC. Influences range from 1920s hotels and palm courts to Moorish architecture and Bedouin camps, giving Conductor a sense of character throughout.

Private offices, open-plan zones and soundproof booths are designed to encourage focus, collaboration or informal interaction, reflecting the growing importance of flexible, amenity-led workplaces.

With Conductor, Coppermaker Square strengthens its reputation as a development that blends residential life and professional workspace, offering a community-focused, design-conscious destination that meets the demands of London’s evolving work culture.
