Small-batch specialty roaster, New Order Coffee, have been enjoying a busy few months since opening their Detroit premises in July. Located in the Midtown area on Woodward Ave, the space features a bright interior with pops of aqua and orange, a curated selection of coffee essentials, and other design-led accessories.
Designed by Et al. Collaborative, caffeine fans are invited to sip on all manner of brews at the interior six-seat laptop bar or, on finer days, at the heated patio whilst chowing down on a menu that consists of pastries and other sweet and savoury treats. Helmed by coffee veteran Elizabeth Rose, New Order boasts ten seasoned baristas who strive to marry craft coffee excellence with an energetic sense of play.
Citing themselves as ‘an up-to-date, out-of-the-box café and roasterie’, the team are adding their unique twist to Detroit coffee culture; creating an edge to the scene that’s new to Motor City. From microbrewed by-the-cup coffee, handcrafted espresso drinks, cold and nitro cold brew, onto teas and specialty lattes, guests at Detroit’s New Order Coffee are encouraged to choose a bean of choice (from some very fancy names like Ethiopian Sidamo Gerbicho Killa and Guatemala Atiltan) which the baristas will then use to create your very own brew in N.O.’s individualistic fashion.
