Interior designer Jaime Beriestain is inviting everyone around to his place for a bite to eat and some helpful hints on sprucing up their own homes. Nice of him isn’t it? The Chilean is a big noise on the Barcelona style scene and his new concept store knits together the personal and the professional, with a café serving up the kind of Chilean dishes he prepares for his friends at home, and a shop choc-full of carefully curated interior décor goodies.
Jaime’s eatery seats 80 but has an intimate and welcoming feel; decked out in fine style, there is some lovely rustic parquetry on the floor and stripped back farmhouse tables add to the welcome. The blend of industrial concrete and exposed brick with touches of glamour – those two vintage Italian chandeliers from the 1960s and the elegant marble bar for example – work brilliantly. When you have eaten your fill, head to the retail side of the business where you can pick up some stylish touches of your own to take home. You can find almost anything here, from vintage furniture to fragrances, books to flowers.
