citizenM's Charles de Gaulle hotel is in the perfect spot for a quick getaway...

One thing is for sure when staying at citizenM Paris: if you miss your flight from Charles de Gaulle, you’ve only yourself to blame. The hotel couldn’t be more conveniently located – it’s practically at the end of one of the runways – but it’s still only half an hour from central Paris with a bit of luck and a following wind. The first thing you notice about this citizenM outpost is the façade bearing a mural of stylish Parisian pedestrians, attention seemingly caught by goings on inside the hotel, by Julian Opie (the artist also provided a large-scale work for citizenM’s New York venue). The hotel’s six-storey cube shape with framed full-length glass sides gives the mural the look of a giant TV image.

Dutch creative studio concrete has continued its successful partnership with citizenM at the CDG property. The collection of objet and curios, displayed in signature concrete fashion in the hotel’s communal areas, reflect the airport location, with vintage model planes and photographs dotted around. The 230 rooms offer wall-to-wall windows for the plane-spotting guest to enjoy take-offs and landings, but if that’s not your bag, in-room entertainment including a DJ-curated selection of tunes is at your fingertips, and MoodPads control the ambience.
