SLO, a new sustainable aparthotel brand, makes its debut in London with Claridge House, a collection of eight fully serviced apartments set within a historic neo-Georgian building on Davies Street in Mayfair. Designed for both short breaks and longer stays, the project introduces a slower, more considered approach to hospitality in the centre of the city. Behind its restored façade, Claridge House presents a series of interiors shaped by British craftsmanship, wellness rituals, and a focus on longevity.
Interiors were led by SLO with consultancy from Ed Carter and London studio Kitesgrove, establishing a calm and residential character throughout. Botanical greens, terracotta, and sea foam tones move across walls and textiles, paired with oak, marble, and natural fibres that bring depth and warmth to each apartment. Furniture has been sourced from British makers, including fluted oak side tables by Robin Myerscough, sculptural dining tables by Galvin Brothers and Mythology Studio, and bespoke mirrors by Chelsea Vivash. Side tables by Nicola Harding and mid-century-inspired seating complete the spaces. Each apartment includes a fully equipped kitchen, generous living and dining areas, and quiet corners for reading or working.
Art plays a defining role. Curated by Claire Mander, the collection features works by artists including Charlotte Morgan and Emily Wiles, selected for their tonal restraint and material sensitivity. The pieces sit comfortably within the interiors, reinforcing the atmosphere.
Beyond the physical setting, Claridge House introduces a series of rituals intended to shape the experience of the stay. Anatomé London provides scents and amenities, while Hypnos mattresses encourage rest. Teas from Nuditea and coffee by Arro are a wonderful way to start the dat right, accompanied by a curated book selection, wooden board games, and a bespoke SLO playlist. A full-time concierge offers access to private chefs, gallery visits, and cultural events across the capital.
The building itself underwent a deep retrofit by PDP Studio, reducing energy use by 80% and cutting CO₂ emissions by 93%. Air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, and advanced insulation were introduced alongside the careful restoration of historic features. Each stay is also measured for its carbon footprint, with guests receiving a sustainability summary reflecting their environmental impact.
As the first opening for the brand, Claridge House establishes the foundation for SLO’s vision of design-led, environmentally conscious stays, with a second London location planned for South Molton Street in 2026.
