As Oasis return to the stage for a run of sold-out reunion shows at Wembley Stadium, Wembley Park marks the occasion with Brothers: Liam and Noel Through the Lens of Kevin Cummins, a free open-air photography exhibition offering a rare, intimate look at the sibling bond behind one of British music’s most charged acts.
Installed across landmark sites throughout the neighbourhood — from Olympic Way to the OVO Arena and just opposite the stadium itself — the exhibition features over 20 large-scale images by legendary photographer Kevin Cummins. Shot during 1994, the year Oasis teetered on the edge of global fame, the photographs reveal Liam and Noel Gallagher not as tabloid caricatures, but as two young men navigating the strangeness of sudden stardom.

Cummins, who helped define the visual identity of Joy Division, The Smiths, and New Order, worked with Oasis from their earliest days. Tasked by Creation Records to shape the band’s public image, he captured everything from alleyway portraits in Manchester to off-guard hotel moments and the now-iconic shots of the brothers in Manchester City shirts stamped with the name of their fortunate sponsor: Brother.
Many of the images are drawn from Cummins’s recent book Oasis: The Masterplan, which documents the band’s pivotal first year. Among the standout moments: Noel alone in Amsterdam after the rest of the band were deported for fighting Chelsea fans; Liam in Adidas trackies during their first-ever studio session; and the pair leaping onto a No.73 bus like schoolboys dodging responsibility.
Curated by Claudio Giambrone, head of cultural programming at Wembley Park, Brothers focuses on connection rather than the conflict for which the two are renowned. It offers a quiet counterpoint to the chaos of the Oasis myth. Timed to coincide with the band’s triumphant return, it offers both nostalgia and new perspective.
Running until 30 September 2025, Brothers: Liam and Noel Through the Lens of Kevin Cummins is part of the Wembley Park Art Trail and sits alongside large-scale works dedicated to Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey and Madonna. All photographs featured in the exhibition are from Cummins’s archive, represented by Iconic Images. The exhibition is free and fully accessible.
