Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025

Previewing Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025; from headline sets and pro events to late-night parties and citywide showcases...

The sun is out, the terraces are brimming over, and the sense of a summer of decadence is in the air for music savvy revellers. For Barcelona, you see, primavera is more than a season. As one of Europe’s most beloved music festivals sets to return to the Catalan capital, primavera signals the commencement of another summer of fine frolicking festivities.

Just over a month remains until Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025 unleashes its 23rd edition, a chapter so feverishly anticipated it sold out entirely just 67 days after its lineup was announced. No surprise, perhaps, when Gen Z’s “holy trinity” of Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan are leading the charge.

For those who missed the ticket rush, all hope is not lost. A waiting list remains open for both day passes and full weekend tickets. And if you’re part of the music industry, there’s still a way in; Primavera Pro accreditations still available in limited quantities, and granting access to a dynamic slate of showcases, talks, and networking events running from 4—8 June.

But as always, Primavera Pro extends far beyond badges and business cards. Embedded within the Primavera a la Ciutat programme, the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) will once again swing open its doors to the public with a series of genre-spanning concerts that echo the festival’s knack for spotting global talent before the world catches on. Expect boundary-pushing sounds and international debuts that define what’s next in the world of off-kilter music.

This year’s Pro lineup sees professionals confirmed from the likes of Warner Chappell Music, Telefónica, Amazon Studios, Google DeepMind, PIAS, BMAT, Unison, Mute Song, Friendly Fire Licensing, and Razzmatazz, among many others. From digital disruption to new revenue models, synchronisation strategies to the legal ins and outs of music IP, Primavera Pro will again prove itself as much a knowledge hub as it is a celebration of creativity.

And for those outside the industry bubble? There’s plenty on offer. Primavera a la Ciutat once again ensures that the energy of Primavera Sound courses through the veins of Barcelona itself. From Monday, 2 June, to Sunday, 8 June, venues including Sala Apolo, Razzmatazz, Paral·lel 62, La Nau, LAUT, and Enfants will host acts ranging from cult heroes to future icons. Highlights this year include Peter Doherty, Tinariwen, Beach House, Salem, Kelly Lee Owens, The Jesus Lizard, Kneecap, Kim Deal, as well as a night curated by Soul Jazz Records Sound System. A total of 22 free daytime concerts will also take place at CCCB as part of the Pro’s public programme, whilst tickets for official events are available via Fever.

Then comes the crescendo. Sunday, 8 June, sees Primavera Bits x Nitsa bring the week to a euphoric close, transforming Parc del Fòrum into a sprawling open-air dancefloor. From 15:00 to 23:00, electronic luminaries Michael Bibi, Paul Kalkbrenner, Carlita, BUNT, and Ona will soundtrack a proper Mediterranean send-off to one of the world’s great festivals.

With a lineup that includes LCD Soundsystem, Jamie xx, Floating Points, Armand Van Helden, IDLES, FKA twigs, Joy Orbison, Central Cee, Fontaines D.C., and Nicola Cruz alongside the pop powerhouses leading this year’s bill, it’s little wonder that Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025 has broken records before it’s even begun. If you’ve bagged a ticket, prepare for a week that defies expectation. If not, keep your eyes on that waiting list. The summer starts here, and this one’s set to explode.
