Black Rat Projects, Soho

Black Rat Projects makes the move to Soho after six successful years in Shoreditch...

For six years the Black Rats ran their show from a converted railway arch in Shoreditch, but now the gang that got together in 2007 is moving on to pastures new with a gallery space on Bateman Street, Soho. Black Rat Projects is all about championing UK and international artists whose practices exist somewhere between traditional fine art and urban art, and who employ unusual and interesting techniques in their work such as the American folk-pop artist Butch Anthony. Directors Tiffany Newton and Danae Prassides are also a dab hand at managing artist’s transitions from the street to the gallery context, and Black Rat has a publishing arm too.
