Authenticity is paramount at NYC neighbourhood joint informed by the city's cultural heritage...

“Dear New York, this is a love letter to you and how you brought us together. Only in a city as electric as this could we bring you a place as eclectic as this.” Anybody who paraphrases the Beastie Boys as part of their statement of intent gets off on the right footing with us.

Charlie Bird, New York

Charlie Bird takes inspiration from the creatives who have shaped New York — your B-Boys, your Warhols, your Basquiats and Harings — and the scenes that have defined it; artwork of 1980s boomboxes expound the SoHo eatery’s desire to be placed in the same bracket as the greats who placed NYC on the cultural map it presides over today.

Chef Ryan Hardy and Sommelier Robert Bohr promise ‘food without ego, service with charm’ and cry out in their desire to be ‘your favourite neighbourhood joint’, ergo one trusts that honesty is the key to Charlie Bird’s vision. Mustard leather banquettes, bare brick walles, neon light sculptures and vintage microphones complete a musical look; a heavy Italian influence on the menu reinforces that air of good ol’ sincerity. Great practicing your New Yoik accent; Charlie’s the real deal.
