Caffe What If

Designer Pomme Chan's Caffe What If has the answer in Bangkok...

Pomme Chan and her team took just three months to take Caffe What If from the spark of an idea to a fully designed concept that was ready to roll – just goes to show what you can get done when you are passionate about a project. Although now living and working in London, Pomme’s new café and showroom is in her native Bangkok, which she left in 2002 to further her studies.

What If as a brand merges food and design, two interests that lie close to Pomme’s heart. Grandpa’s stewed pork is top of the pops with hungry customers, but it is as a showcase for the illustrative talents of the multi-talented owner that Caffe What If that has us eating it up and going back for seconds. Cushions, tableware, upholstery – even the windows bear witness to Pomme’s skills; her designs are heavily influenced by the natural world, the animal kingdom, and innovative typography.
