Project Zoltar presents: Zoltar the Magnificent

All Hail Zoltar!

Art and fashion collective celebrates 10 years with a Magnificent book...

Silly hats and suggestive balloon animals all round – Project Zoltar is 10 this year! Dan Macmillan and Kieron Livingstone’s “antidote to the dying art of British eccentricity” has come a long way since started out as a curiosity shop, growing into a fashion brand and functioning, if that is the word for such a disruptive bunch, as an artistic collective.

Of course a milestone like that means it must be time for a book to mark the anniversary and to recap just what has been going on during the hectic decade. As you can tell from the title, Zoltar the Magnificent, the group is pretty pleased with progress so far, and why not? They’ve worked with big brands (Nike) and collaborated on fashion projects with Bella Freud and Anita Pallenberg. They’ve exhibited work by Marlon Richards, Mick Rock and Robert Hawkins. And most of all they’ve had a bloody great time doing it. Not averse to religious connotations, the Magnificent book is a purple silk bound, gold-embossed number with a foreword from Jake and Dinos Chapman, available now from Trolley Books. Keep up to date with all the Zoltar shenanigans including their world tour via #ProjectZoltar.
