Live It

Adventurous biannual mag dives into extraordinary lives...

I knew I wasn’t the only person to have dreamed of jacking it all in and joining the circus. There are others out there like me, and some have even gone and done it. These are the kind of people you’ll find in the inspiring twice-yearly magazine Another Escape, aimed at free spirits and adventurous sorts and broadly revolving around the notion of creativity.

Founders Rachel Taylor and Jody Daunton, who look after the editorship and creative direction, decided from the outset that this was to be a print production, which in itself displays admirable courage and commitment to principles in this digital age. We agree that there’s nothing quite like the tactility and substantive quality of a magazine, especially during the solitary and wistful time around the morning ablutions when thoughts drift away to other lives and different choices. Of course if you aren’t one for toilet meditations, you can stick the mag in your bag and read it any time the mood takes you. Not everyone has it in them to strike out into uncharted territory, and even if levels of life-changing bravery are running low, there is a definite vicarious pleasure in reading about those who take life by the scruff of the neck in all sorts of unusual ways. Another Escape Volume Two is now on sale online and from selected outlets for a very reasonable £8. Grab yourselves a bit of the extraordinary.
