Poster Art 150

London Transport Museum is showcasing 150 of the best Underground posters as part of their 150th anniversary celebrations. The exhibition will focus on six themes highlighting how the world’s first underground railway has handled way-finding, celebrated culture, promoted its city and rural retreats, and passed on good old useful information. Selected from an archive containing over 3,300 posters, the display will also feature a mix of well known, and not so well known artists’ designs from every decade over the last 100 years.

Teen Dreams Prom; The Book Club

Tonight

Teen Dreams Prom; The Book Club

In homage to the tacky high school prom (which us Brit’s never had the pleasure displeasure of), The Book Club are hosting their very own Teen Dreams Valentine Prom this evening. Teen flicks will be showing throughout the evening, a makeover photo booth and beer pong will help you get into the spirit, whilst an abundance of frivolity and interactive games might even help you find your very own Prom King or Queen. Dress up, rock up and drown your sorrows should Mr/Ms Right not have been all you wanted them to be! It’s going to be kitsch, over the top, and we wouldn’t want it any other way…

Teen Dreams Prom; The Book Club, 100 Leonard Street, London EC2A 4RH; Running 14th February, 8:00pm – 2:00am. Entry £5.00

Screen Street; Pop-Up

17 & 24 February

Screen Street; Pop-Up

It was only in Tuesday’s Stuff Crush that we included screen printing kits from a Toronto based print shop, and what good timing that was; for a group of printers from our very own shores, Screen Street, continue with their creative pop-up on both the 17th and 24th February. Located on Brick Lane, they’ve teamed up with artist Yema Yema who has created three characters which you can get printed on your own shirt. Not only is it your chance to get your own quirky tee, you can also get a real insight as to how the screen printing process works. Each t-shirt is £15, alternatively take one of your own down and they’ll print onto it for a fiver.

Screen Street; Pop-Up,
Backyard Market
, 146 Brick Lane, London, E1 6RU; Running 17th and 24th February, 10:00am to 5:00pm

Valentine’s at Ceviche

Today

Valentine’s at Ceviche

Soho based Peruvian restaurant Ceviche, had us licking our lips earlier this year thanks to their fresh, tangy food menu and perfectly complimenting cocktail list. So when we heard of their special Valentine creations, we had to include them in our slushy weekend round-up. La Pituca or The Posh Girl, a take on their popular Pisco Sour cocktail not only tastes amazing (the infusion of cherries making sure of that), it looks damn good too. Served alongside their exclusive Valentine menu, you can also look forward to dessert – whoa, hold up, we mean the food kind – the Pasión de Queso, perfect for sharing, it’s bound to set the mood for some Valentine loving…

Valentine’s at Ceviche, 17 Frith Street, Soho, London, W1D 4RG; Running 14th February onwards

A playlist of funk, hip hop and soul will keep both, the party going, and you eagerly awaiting their next pop-up…
