Fashion, art, interiors, gadgets and so much more; Stuff Crush is our weekly address of objects we lust…

3D ceramics, a cardboard boombox, graphical skateboards and eerie figurines – we’ve been lusting over another mixed bag of design-led gubbins for the last seven days; and here it is…

zwei21 x Wagner and Apel; Contemporary Emotions Porcelain Figurines

Contemporary Emotions comprises beautiful art nouveau figurines by zwei21 for porcelain manufacturers; Wagner and Apel. In white and bisque porcelain – some carrying details of copper and platinum – we’re loving Amelie, a slightly ominous girl figurine with doll and teddy bear in arms.

Rob Flowers x Burgerac; McDonalds themed Trays

The designs on these trays are so quirky that we might not use them to serve food and instead hang them on our walls. Adorned with a McDonalds-gone-bad theme – a collaboration between Rob Flowers and Burgerac – they’re practical too; made from melamine they’re dishwasher safe and solid. The bad news, not many have been made so if you want your very own, you need to get one quick…

Laboratoire Cru; 2.2 Chair

Easy to assemble and sustainable, the 2.2 Chair sounds like a dream. Thanks to the interlocking system and elastic cable elements, I think even I’d be able to piece this together. Although sturdy, if an individual piece were to succumb to wear and tear, it’d be quite easily replaceable. Good looking and comfortable, we’re big fans of this chair by Parisian design studio, Laboratoire Cru.

Guido Garotti; 3Dzionale

Exploring tradition, heritage and the sad decline in age-old ceramic craft – designer Guido Garotti fuses traditional Antico Savona hand decoration with a little blast of the modern. 3Dzionale (which translates as 3Dtional) does what it says on the tin – well, the vase actually – and puts stereoscopic 3D onto a ceramic piece where either red or blue would have been traditionally used. Wry, innovative, and sure to re-establish interest in forgotten craft – brilliant.

hard graft; Grocery Bag

This is one bag guaranteed not to split on you down the local supermarket. Made from British heavyweight waxed cotton, this is one sturdy bag, and spaciousness combined with the extra wide shoulder straps mean you can comfortably carry a heavier than usual load. In typical Hard Graft fashion, as the bag ages the leather becomes deeper and richer – meaning this is a bag in for the long haul…

Atypical; Classic FW 2012 Collection Skateboards

Italian brand Atypical, have created a recognisable design by taking inspiration from the first skates of the ’60s and ’70s . The collection – hand made in Italy using solid wood from the best ash trees – comprises 5 models; #Original takes advantage of the different tones of the wood, whilst the others have an element of pastel included. Geometric lines and attention to the graphic cleanliness link them together.

Axel Pfaender; The Berlin Boombox

Harking back to the oldschool boomboxes of the ’80s, Berlin-based designer Axel Pfaender has created a cardboard stereo soundsystem for iPhones, iPods and MP3 players. Originally a Kickstarter project, the Berlin Boombox is now available to purchase – hooray – and made from robust cardboard it features a digital 2×5 watts amplifier and german engineered HiFi speakers.

Andrea Crews x Uniqlo

Japanese fashion brand Uniqlo and Parisian artistic collective Andrea Crews, have collaborated on ten super-cool Christmas themed sweaters. Fortnum & Mason; Wooden Advent Calendar

We so weren’t going to feature an advent calendar this year but Fortnum & Mason have got us going gaga over their wonderfully festive Wooden Advent Calendar. Buy it unfilled (and add your own treats) or filled (complete with sugar mice, jelly beans, chocolate coins and truffles). And better still, there’s a musical option (wake up, if you must, to Oh Christmas Tree, Jingle Bells, Silent Night and much more), which you can simply refill each year for an everlasting treat…
