We try our best every year; leave it as long as we can – determined not to let the festive cheer sweep us up too early – but, before we’re even half way through November, something, someone, always gets us. As the heavyweight decorations, window displays and elaborate grottos are rolled out for another year, everyone’s favourite high-end department store has melted our hearts with a slice of classic 1920s New York-esque Christmas elegance; thanks to iconic fashion photographer Bruce Weber.

“Don’t be tool cool for school” opens the black and white video, as if targeting us personally, before descending into a romping few minutes of feel good festivity that even the most hardened killjoy would be hard pushed not to fall for. Models, boxers, Pearly Kings and Queens… it’s Fifth Avenue meets East End and is an irresistible reminder that the big day is only a matter of weeks away. And there’s not a do-gooder snowman anywhere to be seen.
