Getting creative with innovative technology...

We Heart are partnering with Nintendo to present a series of features that focus on activities surrounding the launch of their New Art Academy game. The first of these exciting events takes place this weekend, as the V&A play host to Big Draw, Big Make, a series of talks, demonstrations, pop-up studios, and general art-related shenanigans that signals the launch of Big Draw 2012 – an international celebration of drawing that runs throughout October.

Nintendo will host a workshop at the resplendent museum’s Sackler Education Centre, where Vivian Schwarz – illustrator of There Are No Cats in This Book – will be teaching families and their little oiks how to doodle, draw and get generally creative with Nintendo 3DS XL consoles.

Inevitably there’s a whole bundle of other delights to distract and amaze too – and the overseeing grandaddy of all things children’s illustration, Quentin Blake, has drawn the event’s promotional poster (see below); a limited (to just 100), and signed, print of which you can win.

To bag yourself a limited Quentin Blake print, just leave a comment at the bottom of this page telling us what you’d draw on your Nintendo 3DS XL, and we’ll pick a winner randomly on 3rd October. Marvellous!
