Wolfgang Tillmans «Neue Welt»

The new world as seen through a lens...

Photographer Wolfgang Tillmans‘ fascination with science, technology and transportation is the focus of his new photography exhibition Neue Welt (New World) taking place in Zurich.

This new collection, alongside extensions of his long-running series such as Silver, captures aspects of modern life in the context of global production and the role of surfaces in our perception of reality. Airports, shopping centres, façades, cladding and padding all fall under the gaze of Tillmans’ camera. The role of technology in photography is also a point of interest for the artist, who often exploits the chemical-mechanical process of development in his images.

Don’t fancy that lobster much, I must say.

Neue Welt can be seen at Kunsthalle Zürich, until 4th November.
